The Yamaha XSR155 is a premium sports motorcycle that is manufactured by Yamaha Motor Company. The bike is based on the popular Yamaha R15 v3.0 and shares its engine, frame and suspension setup with the R15. The XSR155 was launched in Thailand in February 2019 and is expected to be launched in other Asian markets soon.

The Yamaha XSR155 is powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve, fuel-injected engine that produces 19.3 bhp of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of torque at 8500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has a kerb weight of 140 kg and a fuel tank capacity of 12 liters.

The XSR155 gets its stopping power from a 282mm disc brake at the front and 220mm disc brake at the rear. The bike has a dual-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) as standard.

The XSR155 is suspended by 37mm telescopic forks at the front and mono-shock with a piggyback reservoir at the rear. The bike has a ground clearance of 160mm and a seat height of 810mm.

The XSR155 is available in two colors – Racing Blue and Tech Black. The bike competes with the likes of the KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, and the Honda CBR250RR in the Thai market.

Yamaha has not officially announced the launch of the XSR155 in India but it is expected to be launched in our market by late 2019 or early 2020. The bike is likely to be priced around INR 2 lakhs (ex-showroom). When launched, it will compete against the likes of the KTM RC390, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, and the Honda CBR250RR.

The XSR 155 gets a retro-styled round headlamp with LED DRLs, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, upswept exhaust, and spoked wheels with dual-purpose tires. The bike has a curb weight of 135 kgs and a ground clearance of 160 mm. It gets telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends, with dual-channel ABS as standard.
