You may not be able to do something on the scale of these individuals, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do great things. You can start where you are with what you have and do small things in a great way. It all starts with your mindset. If you believe you can make a difference, no matter how small, then you will take the necessary actions to make it happen.

You don’t need to wait for someone else’s approval or permission to get started. You can take charge of your life and do something great right now. It doesn’t matter how big or small it is—what matters is that you take action and do it with excellence. When you do the best you can at whatever you’re doing, even if it’s something seemingly insignificant, it will eventually add up to something great.

The Only SEO Checklist You Need

You may not be able to do great things right off the bat. But you can do small things in a great way. This is especially true when it comes to SEO. There are a lot of little things you can do to improve your SEO. And, when you do them all together, they can have a big impact. This SEO checklist will help you make sure you are doing all the small things right.

SEO Basics

SEO is the practice of optimizing your website with the goal of earning higher rankings in search engine results. The better your ranking, the more likely people are to click on your site.

There are two types of SEO: on-page and off-page. On-page SEO refers to the tactics you can use on your own website to improve your ranking, while off-page SEO refers to the tactics you can use outside of your website, such as link building and guest blogging.

To earn higher rankings in search results, you need to do both types of SEO. Here’s a basic SEO checklist to help you get started:

  1. Use keyword-rich titles and descriptions.
  2. Optimize your website for mobile devices.
  3. Increase your website’s speed.
  4. Improve your website’s content.
  5. Build links to your website from other websites.
    Set up GSC and Bing Webmaster tools

    1.1 Set up GSC and Bing Webmaster tools

The first thing you need to do is set up Google Search Console (GSC) and Bing Webmaster Tools (BingWT). This will allow you to monitor your website’s performance in the SERPs and get insights into how Google and Bing see your site.

To set up GSC, you’ll need to verify ownership of your website. There are a few different ways to do this, but the easiest is probably to connect your site to Google Analytics. If you don’t have GA installed on your site, you can use one of the other verification methods.

Once you’ve verified ownership, you can start using GSC. The first thing you should do is set up some goals so that you can track your progress. Then, take a look at the Search Traffic > Queries report to see what keywords your site is ranking for.

BingWT is similar to GSC, but there are a few key differences. First, you don’t need to verify ownership of your site – just sign in with your Microsoft account. Second, there aren’t any goal-setting options, so you’ll need to track progress manually.

The most important report in BingWT is the Performance report, which shows how your site is doing in Bing’s SERPs. Take a look at the keywords that are driving traffic to your site and see if there are any opportunities to improve your rankings.

Set up Google Analytics


Google Analytics is a must if you want to make data-driven decisions about your SEO. It’s a free platform that gives you insights into how people find and use your website.

To set up Google Analytics, you’ll need to create a Google account and then sign up for Analytics. Once you’re signed in, you can add your website and start tracking your traffic.

Google Analytics can seem overwhelming at first, but there are plenty of tutorials and support options available. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to use data from Analytics to improve your SEO strategy.

Install and configure an SEO plugin (wordpress)

The easiest way to process on-page SEO for your WordPress site is by using an SEO plugin. Yoast SEO is one of the most popular plugins available and it’s free to use. All you need to do is install and activate the plugin, then go through the initial setup process.

Once the plugin is activated, you’ll see a new menu item labeled “SEO” in your WordPress dashboard. Under that menu, you’ll find all the settings and options for the plugin. We recommend going through each section and adjusting the settings to match your preferences.

In general, you want to make sure that you enter your focus keyword in the “focus keyword” field for each post and page on your website. Yoast SEO will then analyze your content and give you feedback on how well you’ve optimized your page for that keyword.

You can also use Yoast SEO to control things like social media titles and descriptions, as well as control whether or not search engines should index specific pages on your website.

Keyword Research


Before you can optimize your website for better rankings in the search engines, you need to know which keywords or phrases potential customers are using when they go online to find products or services like yours. This process is called “keyword research” and is a crucial part of SEO.

Fortunately, there are a number of excellent tools you can use to help with your keyword research. Some of these tools are free, while others are paid. Here is a list of our favorites:

-Google AdWords Keyword Planner: This tool, from the largest search engine in the world, is excellent for finding out how often particular keywords are being searched. You do need to have a Google AdWords account to use it, but it’s free to set up.
-Bing Ads Intelligence: Another great keyword research tool from one of the major search engines. This tool is designed for use with Microsoft Excel and helps you research key terms and get detailed insights about competition for those terms.
-SEMrush: This is a powerful all-in-one marketing toolkit that offers a number of excellent features, including keyword research capabilities. A basic account starts at $99 per month but may be worth the investment if you are serious about marketing your business online.
-KWFinder: A popular keyword research tool that offers both free and paid accounts starting at $29 per month. KWFinder provides accurate keyword difficulty scores and other valuable information to help you choose the right keywords for your SEO campaigns.

Identify your competitors

The first step to any good SEO strategy is to know your competition. This will give you an understanding of what you’re up against and what you need to do to position yourself as the authority in your industry. The easiest way to find your competitors is to simply search for keywords related to your business. For example, if you’re a web design company, you could search for “web design” or “web design company.”

Conduct a keyword gap analysis

When you want to rank for certain keywords, you first need to determine how difficult it would be to rank for them. This can be done by conducting a keyword gap analysis. A keyword gap analysis is a simple process:
-First, make a list of all the keywords you want to rank for
-Then, use a tool like Google AdWords Keyword Planner or Moz Keyword Explorer to find out how much monthly search volume each keyword has
-Finally, compare your list of keywords to the list of keywords that your competitors are already ranking for. The keywords that are not on your competitor’s list are your “gap” keywords. These are the ones you should focus on ranking for.

Find your main ‘money’ keywords


Now that you know what kinds of keywords you should be targeting, it’s time to start looking for them. To do this, we’ll use a combination of Google Search (also called “Google Web search”) and the Google Keyword Planner Tool.

Remember, our goal is to find one or two “main” money keywords that we can rank for in Google, and get a ton of traffic from. We don’t need a long list of keywords at this stage – just a few high-value ones that we can really go after.

Here’s how to find your main money keywords using Google Search and the Keyword Planner Tool:

1) Start with a seed list of potential keywords related to your topic. If you’re not sure where to start, try coming up with a list of 10-20 potential topics related to what you do, then use a keyword research tool like Google Search or the Keyword Planner Tool to come up with a list of related keywords for each topic.
2) Use Google Search to get an idea of the relative popularity (i.e., number of searches per month) of each keyword on your list. To do this, simply go to google.com and type each keyword into the search box, then take note of the number of results that come up:
-If there are more than 100 million results, it’s a popular keyword
-If there are 10-100 million results, it’s a moderately popular keyword
-If there are 1-10 million results, it’s a niche keyword
3) Use the Keyword Planner Tool to get an idea of the commercial value (i.e., number of searches per month with intent to buy) of each keyword on your list. To do this, go to https://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner and log in with your Google account (if you don’t have one yet, you can create one for free). Then click “Search for new keywords using a phrase, website or category,” enter each keyword on your list into the “Your product or service” field one at a time, then click “Get Ideas.”
4) Once you have an idea of both the popularity and commercial value of each keyword on your list, prioritize them according to which ones are most likely to generate traffic that converts into sales or leads for your business. At this point, you should have 1-2 “main” money keywords that you can focus on – congrats!

Technical SEO

Technical SEO is the practice of optimizing a website for the search engines with the goal of improving the visibility of the site and its ranking in the search results. Technical SEO includes optimizing the website structure, the code, the content, the links, and the server. Technical SEO is a vast and complex subject, but the rewards can be great.

Leverage “Inspect URL” feature in GSC

Leverage the “Inspect URL” feature in Google Search Console (GSC) to check a live URL for any crawling or indexing errors. This is a quick and easy way to check for any technical SEO issues on a given page, such as 404 errors, duplicate content, or incorrect canonicals.

Ensure your website is mobile-friendly

Google’s mobile-first indexing means that it’s now using the mobile version of your website for indexing and ranking. This is because more than 60% of all searches are now done on mobile devices.

If you want to ensure that your website is mobile-friendly, there are a few things you can do:

  • Use responsive design. This means that your website will automatically adjust to fit the screen size of the device it’s being viewed on.
  • Use a separate mobile version of your website. This is a stand-alone version of your website that is designed specifically for mobile devices.
  • Use AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages). This is an open-source initiative that allows you to create lightweight versions of your web pages that load faster on mobile devices.
    Check your site’s loading speed

    Slow loading sites are a huge problem. Not only do they frustrate visitors, they also lead to lower search engine rankings. In fact, Google has stated that site speed is a factor in their ranking algorithm.

There are a number of ways to improve your site’s loading speed, but one of the easiest is to simply check your site’s loading speed and make sure it is where it should be.

There are a number of tools you can use to check your site’s loading speed, but one of the best is Google’s PageSpeed Insights tool.

To use the PageSpeed Insights tool, simply enter your URL into the tool and it will give you a report on how fast your site loads. The report will also give you specific recommendations on how to improve your site’s loading speed.

Once you have checked your site’s loading speed and made sure it is where it should be, you can move on to other aspects of technical SEO.

On-page and Content

On-page SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the practice of optimizing a website to rank higher in search engine results and drive organic traffic. The goal of on-page SEO is to improve the visibility of a website and its content in search engine results pages (SERPs). Content is a critical part of on-page SEO because it helps search engines understand what a website is about and determines whether it is relevant to a searcher’s query.

Fix duplicate, missing, and truncated title tags


One of the most common SEO issues we see is duplicate or missing title tags.

The title tag is an HTML element that specifies the title of a web page. The title tag is used to display the title of a web page in a browser tab, as well as in search engine results pages (SERPs). A good title tag should be less than 60 characters long, and should contain keywords relevant to the page’s content.

If you have duplicate or missing title tags on your website, it’s important to fix them as soon as possible. Duplicate title tags can confuse search engines and hurt your site’s ranking in SERPs. Missing title tags can also hurt your site’s ranking, as they provide search engines with valuable information about your site’s content.

To fix duplicate or missing title tags on your website, follow these steps:

  1. Use a tool like Screaming Frog to crawl your website and identify all the pages with duplicate or missing title tags.
  2. For each page with a duplicate or missing title tag, open the page in a text editor like Notepad++ and look for the element.</li> <li>If the <title> element is missing, add it to the page and make sure it contains relevant keywords for the page’s content. If there are multiple <title> elements on the page, delete all but one of them.</li> <li>If the <title> element contains more than 60 characters, truncate it so that it is no longer than 60 characters long. If there are multiple <title> elements on the page, truncate all of them so that they are no longer than 60 characters long. </li> <li>Save your changes and upload the revised pages to your server</p><br /><h3>Find and fix duplicate or missing meta descriptions</h3><br /><p> <br /> A meta description is a summary of what a particular web page or document is about. This can help you identify opportunities to get links from websites that may be relevant to your business or website.</p> <p>To conduct a link intersect analysis, you need to have a list of competitors that you want to track. You can use a tool like Ahrefs, Majestic, or Moz’s Open Site Explorer to export links for each of your competitor’s websites. Once you have a list of competitor links, you can upload them into a tool like Link Intersect (linkintersect.com) and it will tell you which websites are linking to your competitors but not to you.</p><br /><h3>Target your competitors’ broken backlinks</h3><br /><p><br /> One way to find great link opportunities is to look for your competitor’s broken backlinks.</p> <p>You can do this by running a backlink analysis on your competitor’s site using a tool like Ahrefs.</p> <p>Then, simply export the list of broken links and reach out to each site to let them know about the broken link.</p> <p>Most site owners will be happy to add your link as a replacement.</p></p>
